Host and Designer on HGTV, Sabrina Soto shares her inventive approach to design and savvy DIY style when featured in Good Houskeeping ~ "One Day Living Room Makeover" Where Sabrina used our light wheat-colored slipcover to transform their readers blue sofa. - {photos via Francesco Lagnese}
One reader's room goes from stale to stunning — in 24 hours! — with help from HGTV host and Target Style Expert for Home... Sabrina Soto!
Before: Awkward furniture placement along with a baby grande piano blocking the prime pathway & "being stuck in the blues, due to the sofas"
Sabrina's solution: Move the piano to a less obtrusive spot on the opposite side of the room, and center the sofa in front of the fireplace, floating it away from the wall to create a passage along the perimeter. Removing two bulky chairs and the love seat helped traffic flow, too. Painting the walls a soothing green (a hue inspired by a favorite pottery bowl), hanging khaki curtain panels, and concealing the sofa with a wheat-colored slipcover softened the space.
Pick a slipcover, any slipcover...
Sabrina and Sue (homeowner) apply the slipcover.
Sabrina adds the finishing touches to the slipcover application.
After: Roomy and elegant open space. "The now-neutral couch allows for endless color combinations." Says Sabrina.
